Lawyer Morty is a fan-favorite background character from the animated series Rick and Morty, first appearing in the Season 3 premiere, “The Rickshank Rickdemption.”

Despite his professional attire, he is not actually a licensed attorney and has never even attended law school.

Instead, the Council of Ricks keeps him around as a form of comic relief and court entertainment because “he’s fun” and likes to dance for them.
