ThunderCats is a classic American media franchise centered around a group of cat-like humanoid alien superheroes. Originally created by Tobin “Ted” Wolf in 1985, the series combines elements of science fiction, fantasy, and superhero action.

The narrative follows the ThunderCats as they flee their dying home planet, Thundera. After their fleet is attacked by their arch-enemies, the Mutants of Plun-Darr, they are forced to land on a distant planet known as Third Earth. Led by the young lord Lion-O, the heroes must rebuild their lives while protecting the Sword of Omens—a powerful weapon containing the “Eye of Thundera”—from the evil, ancient sorcerer Mumm-Ra.
