Miranda Lawson is a prominent fictional character in BioWare’s critically acclaimed Mass Effect science-fiction role-playing video game series. Introduced as a high-ranking officer of the pro-human organization Cerberus, she serves as a primary squadmate and Executive Officer aboard the Normandy SR-2 in Mass Effect 2, and appears as a key ally in Mass Effect 3.

Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski provided the voice and facial model for the character.

Created by her wealthy, controlling father Henry Lawson, Miranda was genetically engineered to be “perfect”. Her appearance, peak physical condition, high intelligence, and powerful biotic capabilities were all pre-designed.

Within Cerberus, she serves as the brilliant director of the Lazarus Project, leading the multi-trillion-credit medical operation that successfully brings Commander Shepard back to life.

Much of her character arc centers on escaping her father’s influence, protecting her genetically engineered twin sister, Oriana, and overcoming deep-seated insecurities regarding her “manufactured” accomplishments.

 

The funko pop Miranda is based on BioWare’s Mass Effect video game series of Commander Shepard’s second-in-command.
