Strolling out of the Central Station , you will see at your left a big church (the Saint Nicolas Church).
To the right of it you will come across the Barbizon Hotel.
Next to it is the Zeedijk street. Just follow this street until you reach the Nieuwmarkt square.
The store can be found at number 136 C and is recognizable by the big HENK neon letters in the window.
About six minutes walking distance.

Or you can take the subway/underground (all lines) from Central Station and get out the next stop at station Nieuwmarkt (exit Nieuwmarkt).
We can be found at the other side of the square.

Parking is difficult in the neighbourhood, but not impossible.

"Henk is een winkel uniek in zijn stijl.
Het is bijna niet zozeer een manga of stripwinkel, maar een strip en manga merchandising winkel.
Poppetjes, modellen, posters en allerlei goodies en andere leuke dingen zijn bij Henk op de Nieuwmarkt te vinden. Lekker makkelijk te bereiken met de Amsterdamse metro en in een zeer leuk deel van Amsterdam, zeker wanneer je naar de opvallende straatnaambordjes kijkt.
Al valt het aantal manga eerlijk gezegd een beetje tegen voor wat zich een "manga store" noemt, maar wanneer je in de buurtje bent zou je zeker eens langs Henk moeten gaan."

"Henk Lee's is the best anime goodies store in Amsterdam. I mostly get my anime figures from there. They have a lot of stuff. Anime figures, Spawn figures and many other figures like Tomb Raider, Starwars, Dragonball Z, etc...They also have a lot of comics and posters. Also a lot of anime DVD's."

(jan 2007)- "Heel veel comics, manga en action figures. Helaas heeft de winkel te weinig ruimte waardoor niet alles tot zijn recht komt.
De prijzen zijn niet goedkoop. Maar hun eigen import uit de V.S. is subliem. Abonneren op comics is hier ook mogelijk en je krijgt dan 20% korting.
Zendingen zijn altijd compleet en op tijd. De verkopers zijn echt comic fans, maar kunnen soms een beetje stug overkomen voor een nieuwe klant.
De vaste klanten komen vaak op woensdag, want dan zijn de nieuwe comics er.
Dit is erg gezellig en leuk om met andere comic geeks te praten."

"Winkel met waarschijnlijk het grootste comic aanbod van Nederland. Richt zich duidelijk op de toeristen. Indien je een ontbrekend nummer van een comic wil bemachtigen moet je hier zeker langs gaan. Grote kans dat je slaagt. Prijzen zijn redelijk."

"Tussen de grote hoeveelheden merchandizing staan nog heel wat interessante comics. Helaas staan niet alle boekjes in de dozen. Het chronisch plaatsgebrek in de winkel maakt het enerzijds gezellig, maar als je je rugzak ophoudt is wel meteen de doorgang geblokkeerd. De prijzen zijn redelijk, maar veel voor weinig zit er niet in. Wel is het personeel ook zelf echte verzamelaar waardoor je lekker over je hobby kunt kletsen."

"De naam van eigenaar Henk staat groot in de etalage, opgebouwd uit letters van een Heineken neonreclame. Veel comics, soms voor redelijke Prijzen. Helaas wordt de prijs vaak pas bij de kassa bepaald, waardoor je nooit precies weet waar je aan toe bent. Beetje hangout voor comics fans."

why: a fantastic selection of comics (old & new), paperbacks, action-figures and manga stuff AND a very friendly staff!
what: LOTS of comics for such a small shop, there's some really old stuff available there!

I bought some stuff I was looking for there including the Alien: Earth war issues done by Sam Kieth.
The first issue was even signed by cover-artist John Bolton but I got it at cover price(!). Lots of Vertigo stuff there.

If you want a wide selection of action-figures, go there!
It's one of the only shops I know that sell DC Direct action-figures.
They have special deals on some of their stuff (I bought a Preacher action figure there with a 30% discount) and since they already have friendly prices and a friendly staff, this place is definetly worth checking out!
